Mid-Range Quality Winter Tires
In truth, you shouldn't take the term “mid-range quality” literally, as many of the products discussed here come from the biggest tire manufacturers. Better to think of them as those manufacturers’ mid-range tires. They are quality tires but they don’t feature the very latest technologies or the most advanced materials.
BFGoodrich
Michelin Group offers the BFGoodrich brand with its T/A Ksi winter tire, an effective tire in both snow and on ice, but at a more reasonable price.
Nordman
The Nordman brand is a good example of a mid-range quality tire, as they are previous-generation Nokian Hakkapeliitta tires. The Nordman 7 is a highly advanced mid-range tire that isn’t the cheapest in its category but can offer superior characteristics to the competition.

Firestone
You probably know that the Firestone brand is now an extension of the Japanese giant Bridgestone. This brand of American origin took some time to get back on its feet after being taken over, but now, its Winterforce winter tires are worth considering, especially for SUVs.

Cooper
American brand Cooper was recently acquired by Goodyear. The tire giant quickly proceeded to rejuvenate its new subsidiary's technologies and now Cooper offers winter tires like the Evolution Winter for cars and Discoverer for SUVs and trucks.

General Tire
General Tire is another of those American brands that has passed into the hands of a European manufacturer - in its case, Continental. Its most recent winter tire is the Altimax Arctic, which I had the opportunity to try on a rally Subaru WRX with surprising results for a mid-range product.

Laufenn
The name Laufenn may not mean much to you, but know that it’s Hankook's mid-range brand, and that it’s slowly finding its place on the market. In this mid-range lineup, remember the name i-Fit Ice, a high-quality product.
Falken
Falken is a secondary brand of Japanese specialist Sumitomo Tires. It produces Eurowinter and Winterpeak F-Ice winter tires that are worth considering. Its most recent product is the Espia EPZ range, which is still building its reputation.
