Les pneus plus abordables

The tires mentioned so far are generally high-end products offering advanced technologies. However, these same brands are associated with others that can be described as mid-range. These tires are more affordable, but they are sturdy and reliable and many perform as well as some of the top-of-the-range products.
BFGoodrich and Uniroyal

BFGoodrich and Uniroyal are Michelin brands. Both offer reliable, efficient winter tires at affordable prices. BFGoodrich offers the T/A KSI and Uniroyal the Tiger Paw Ice & Snow 3.
Dunlop and Cooper

The Dunlop and Cooper brands (since last year in this case) are part of the Goodyear group. From Dunlop, you get Winter Maxx 3 tires with a very aggressive tread, while the Cooper brand (which is currently undergoing a rejuvenation, courtesy of Goodyear) offers the Evolution Winter range, which is well worth considering, especially if you have to drive in deep snow. The only complaint is that these tires can be a little noisy on some surfaces.
General Tire

The legendary General Tire brand belongs to the Continental group (as does Gislaved, which is making a timid comeback at retailers), and offers interesting products such as the Altimax Arctic range, which has been with us for several years now. Note that it can be studded.
Firestone
Firestone is Bridgestone's second-level, mid-range brand. Its Winterforce winter range has recently been revised and its products should satisfy many motorists operating on a tighter budget.
Nordman

Nordman, as mentioned, is a Nokian-owned brand. Its latest product, the Nordman Solstice 4, is basically the Hakkapeliitta 9, with a few updates. Highly effective in all conditions, Nordman tires are essentially top-of-the-range products at mid-range prices.
