To help the victims of the earthquake that shook Japan, CEO of Aston Martin Dr Ulrich Bez, will sell his Rapide at the annual Newport Pagnell auction. All the funds collected will be distributed to various charities supporting the earthquake and tsunami victims, as the auction house won’t be taking its usual commission.

Built around the end of 2009, the car, chassis number F00039, is street legal in the United Kingdom and belongs to Mr Bez since 2010. It features a blue body as well as heated and vented black leather seats accentuated by contrasting grey stitches.

As for gadgets, it includes a garage door opener and a rear infotainment system made up of a DVD player, two screens and infrared headphones.

The Rapide is the brand’s very first four-door sports car. It’s powered by a hand-built, 6.0-litre V12 punching out 470 hp and 443 ft-lb of torque. Power is dispatched to the wheels via a six-speed, Touchtronic 2 transmission.

The car won the prestigious World Car Design of the Year award at the last New York Auto Show.
