TORONTO — The Hertz Corporation has reintroduced its "Freedom Rates" program to help promote business and leisure travel throughout Canada. Rates, applicable at all Hertz corporate locations, start at $31.99 per day for compacts, $47.99 per day on all mid-size cars and $62.99 per day on premium cars, minivans and sport-utility vehicles. Also, because of Hertz' extensive network of locations, the company will continue to offer a competitive one-way rental program at all corporate airport and off-airport locations.
John Samuelson, General Manager, Hertz Canada, said, "Freedom Rates are intended to help stimulate business and leisure travel as we begin resuming normal activities in the aftermath of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. While the key to long term success in all segments of the travel industry is renewed confidence in air travel, the Freedom Rate program is intended to help travelers in the near term." The specifics of the Freedom Rate Program include:
- Availability at all participating Canadian Hertz locations — airport and off airport locations — through December 15, 2001.
- Prices ranging from $31.99 per day/$171.99 per week for a compact car, $47.99 per day and $219.99 per week for mid-size cars, to $62.99 per day/$281.99 per week for premium cars, minivans, and SUVs. Rentals must include Saturday night. "Ask for" FRDM.
- CAA Members receive additional discounts.
