Hyundai Genesis and Ford Flex win AJAC annual awards

The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada announced their Canadian Car of the Year and Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year this morning at the Toronto Auto Show.

The Hyundai Genesis luxury sedan beat out the Mazda6 and Toyota Corolla, while the Ford Flex captured the award away from the Mercedes-Benz M-Class and Subaru Forester.

The AJAC's Best New Design for 2009 goes to the Honda Fit, which bested finalists Volkswagen Passat CC and Jaguar XF Supercharged.

Finally, the 2009 Best New Technology award goes to Mitsubishi's Super-All-Wheel Control, which beat GM's OnStar Stolen Vehicle Slowdown and Infiniti's Around View Monitor.
