The second in-game ad (to be aired during the second quarter) is funnier and somewhat more creative. Titled "10 years/Favre", it shows Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre holding a holographic trophy awarded to the Most Valuable Player… in 2020! And then we’re reminded that Hyundai offers a 10-year/100,000-mile warranty in the U.S. (still 5 years/60,000 miles in Canada).

The automaker is hoping that the tens of millions of viewers will take notice. "The Super Bowl is not only a showcase for great football, but also for the most significant advertising, reaching an estimated 95 million viewers in the U.S.," said Joel Ewanick, Vice President of Marketing, Hyundai Motor America.

No one knows for sure the exact amount of money laid out by HMA to enjoy this much visibility. However, according to an article by Jean-Simon Gagné of Le Soleil (a Quebec City newspaper), a 30-second spot during Super Bowl XLIV reportedly sells for nearly $3 million.

Not to be denied, Hyundai Auto Canada (HAC) will also have two commercials on local television during the Super Bowl. Barbara Pitblado, who speaks on behalf of HAC, said the first one ("Piano") will highlight the refinement of the new Sonata, while the second will feature the Tucson. "It will be the first time Canadian viewers are able to see these ads," she pointed out.

In Canada, the 2011 Hyundai Sonata will arrive in dealer showrooms later this month or in early March. The Tucson is already on sale across the country.
