Following record-breaking sales in 2010, Hyundai and Kia announced their plan to reach 6.33 million units in 2011, which would represent a 10-percent increase.

Achieving that goal would allow the Korean auto giant to become the fifth-largest automaker in the world and further build on the strong momentum of the new Genesis, Sonata, Tucson/Sportage and Forte, all extremely popular among buyers.

Last year, the two brands combined to sell 5.75 million cars. Hyundai accounted for 63 percent of that number (3.6M), while Kia took home the remaining 37 percent (2.1M).
