In the Entry SUV class Honda's CR-V was nudged from a 1st place standing last year to a 3rd place position now, but Honda's execs shouldn't be too concerned as its own Element did the nudging. The 2nd place finisher was Hyundai's Santa Fe, besting the Toyota RAV4 and Mitsubishi Outlander.

Toyota's wonderfully refined 4Runner came out on top of the Midsize SUV category, rising up from 3rd place last year, with the Honda Pilot and Mercury Mountaineer ranking 2nd and 3rd. Ousted from the list are the Toyota Highlander, 2003's 1st place winner, and the 2nd position Nissan Murano.
Just like it did last year, Chevy swept the top two positions in the Full-Size SUV segment, with the massive Suburban taking top marks and the slightly shorter Tahoe pickup up 2nd. The Toyota Sequoia took 3rd place, edging out the GMC Yukon.

The Entry Luxury SUV category has been won by Lexus and its stylish new RX 330, with the Mercedes-Benz ML Class coming in 2nd and the Infiniti FX35/45 taking the 3rd spot. While similar results to last year, the names of two of the models have changed, from the 1st place Lexus RX 300 frontrunner and 3rd place Infiniti QX4. Only the Lexus LX 470 was removed from the list in 2nd position.
The LX 470 wasn't ousted, however, but removed to 1st place in a new segment, the Premium Luxury SUV category. Lexus took 2nd too, with the new GX 470 while 3rd place went to the Cadillac Escalade/Escalade ESV.
