The last segment in the 2004 IQS is the Compact Van category, won by Honda's Odyssey that didn't even place last year. It replaced the soon to be scuttled Oldsmobile Silhouette. In 2nd place is the Dodge Caravan/Grand Caravan, switching places with the Toyota Sienna which is now down to 3rd.

In J.D. Powers' estimation, the vehicles on this list are all good bets for high standards of initial quality. Does that mean that they'll stand up over time? Not necessarily, but how well a car is put together in the beginning should reflect how long the parts stay together until the end.
Incidentally, the 2004 Initial Quality Study (IQS) is based on responses from more than 51,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2004 model-year cars and trucks, surveyed after 90 days of ownership.
