Ford, Shelby plan to increase GT500KR output to match demand
Motoring legend Carroll Shelby is working with Ford to make sure Mustang fans the world over have their chance to own something truly special. The exclusive and powerful Mustang GT500KR was originally announced as a one-thousand-unit run of 2008 models to celebrate the icon's 40th anniversary. Ford says that demand for the new model was so incredible that an additional 746 cars will be created as 2009 models to meet worldwide demand. Of the additional 746 cars, 571 will be sold in the US- matching the 1,571 unit production run of the original car.
