It is more than likely that the IZOD IndyCar Series will be staging a race in China in 2012. IndyCar commercial division president Terry Angstadt estimates the prospects at more than 90%.
The race is set to take place in the streets of Qingdao -- a city of more than 8.7 million in Eastern province of Shandong.
"An agreement has been negotiated and we'll have some more information,” Angstadt said.
“We've had a lot of excitement from our team owners when we asked them where we should go, so we're hopeful."
The 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series schedule, which Bernard said would be comprised of 17 or 18 events is changing on a daily basis.
