Officials at the IZOD IndyCar Series have confirmed that the event scheduled to be presented in China in August has been canceled due to a conflict with a huge festival.
The conflict began when new city officials did not want the IndyCar race to be run the same week-end as the Qingdao International Beer Festival and while discussions had been going-on to find a new date and venue, promoters, faced with a deadline, canceled everything.
IndyCar CEO Randy Bernard is now face with the task of finding a new event to replace the one in China but there are speculations that either the Pocono Raceway or a second stop at Texas Motor Speedway on Oct. 7 could be in the works.
