Although the engine manufacturer is lacking behind its two main rivals Chevrolet and Honda, Lotus will announce at the L.A. Auto Show that it will partner both Bryan Herta Autosport and HVM Racing for the 2012 IZOD IndyCar season.

Keith Wiggins, owner of HVM Racing, is pleased with his new partnership that will see its team renamed Lotus/HVM and was adamant to say that he came to an agreement with Lotus more than 2 months ago.

As we had already revealed couple of weeks ago, Bryan Herta Autosport will also be formally announced as Lotus runners and we know also that Herta is expected to name Alex Tagliani as his driver for 2012.

There is also a possibility that Dreyer & Reinbold could join HVM, Herta and Michael Shank Racing with Lotus/Judd power.

Simona de Silvestro will be once again back in the Nuclear Energy Special for Lotus/HVM as Wiggins is still trying to secure sponsorship for a second car.
