French manufacturer Oreca is looking very hard at the possibility of developing an aerodynamic kit for the upcoming new cars that will be use starting in 2012 in the IndyCar Series.
Among the new rules, teams and manufacturers will have the liberty to develop their own packages to be fitted on the future Dallara. For Oreca, this could be a way to expand its markets.
Company boss Hugues de Chaunac is quite keen for the expanding French company to enter the IndyCar market following its successes at developing cars for the LMP1, LMP2 and Formula Le Mans prototype categories.
The new regulations stipulate that the kits should be available at the top price of $70,000. IndyCar bosses are expecting that there will be four aero kits, including Dallara's standard package.
