As we already predicted, Brazilian Rubens Barrichello won’t be back in the IZOD IndyCar series next season, having decided to accept an offer to race full time in the Copa Caixa Brazilian stock car series.
In recent weeks, the former Formula 1 driver focused on getting all the sponsors necessary to have a sufficient budget to race a full-season in 2013, but to no success.
In a recent interview, the former teammate of Michael Schumacher at Ferrari stated that he could only secured half of the budget required and that he had received well-paid offers to stay at home and join the stock car circuit.
Barrichello declined to comment on his future plans when reached Tuesday in Brazil by several medias.
