Four-time ChampCar series’ champion Sebastien Bourdais was 16th for Dale Coyne Racing. Coyne also gave a surprise IndyCar debut to GP2 driver James Jakes.
“We started, really, from nowhere. The car was really bad and we had a bit of a tough time. But towards the end, we started to get a little closer. We still have a lot of work to do, but it's encouraging because we made some progress,” Bourdais declared.
Conquest Racing was also on hand to test its new driver Sebastian Saavedra who has been hired to drive the team’s No. 34 Honda-powered Dallara for the 2011 IndyCar Series season.
