Confirming our potential

Round thirteen of the 2007 championship will be held this weekend in Monza, Italy, the fastest circuit of the year. The RS27 V8 engines will be put to the test during 53 laps of the famous Autodromo. Like every other team, the ING Renault F1 Team was in action testing here last week to validate its low downforce package, and prepare for the weekend.
With just five races to go this season, the French team is looking to build on the improved performance demonstrated in Turkey two weeks ago. But the race is in Ferrari's backyard, and the tifosi will have eyes for just two cars on Sunday afternoon, as the title battle takes another intense step towards its conclusion.
Ready to pounce
One man who is really looking forward to racing in Monza is Giancarlo! The Roman has always enjoyed this circuit, whose high speeds require very low downforce settings, and which rewards his silky smooth driving style. His team-mate Heikki is racing here for the first time in F1, but has finished in the points at every one of the last four races. And he's not planning on breaking that successful streak this weekend!
The Italian Grand Prix is a special event every year, with the unique atmosphere and passion of the fans propelling every driver to ever-greater heights. The Autodrome is a real cathedral of motorsport, and this weekend's service will begin at 13:00 UK time on Sunday afternoon. So make sure you are in front of your TV and cheering for the Renault boys, when the lights go out!
