Rumours abound that Danica Patrick is looking for a ride in NASCAR but, according to reports, Chip Ganassi’s IndyCar team could well be the next destination for the IRL megastar.
It is reported that Ganassi would be willing to put a third car on the grid for Patrick to drive alongside Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti in 2010. Both former IndyCar and Indy 500 champions have contracts for next year.
Many believe that Team Ganassi could be the only real chance for Patrick to get a hold on either the IRL championship or, at least, on the Indianapolis 500 trophy. The Andretti Green driver’s contract is up for renewal at the end of the present season.
It has already been reported that financial backing from one Fortune 500 company is already available for the deal to come to completion in the coming weeks.
