Chip Ganassi is furious and disappointed. Everybody was sure that Brazilian Tony Kanaan was on his way to become part of the IRL Target Ganassi Team in 2009 but it seems that the veteran had some last minute hesitations and decided to stay on with his actual team Andretti Green.
"I decided to stay with AGR and 7-Eleven and it's a good contract that should be my last one in Indy cars." commented Kanaan to SpeedTV.
This change of plan was not what had expected Chip Ganassi who said he was shocked by Kanaan's decision, having been convinced that he was on his way there.
"It's unbelievable," said Ganassi, deeply disappointed. "I talked to him (Kanaan) on Wednesday night and he said we were fine, we were great and we're a go."
