Serious reports are coming out that suggest that veteran Andretti Green Racing driver Tony Kanaan could sign on to race for Ganassi Racing in 2009. Neither Kanaan nor Chip Ganassi have denied or commented on that rumour.
This could mean the end of the association between 2005 IRL and Indy 500 champion Dan Wheldon and Target Chip Ganassi even tough the Briton is lying third in the standings.
It is believed that Kanaan would be preferred to Wheldon partly based on the better showing the Brazilian has made on road circuits. Some believe that Wheldon could end up with Tony George's team Vision Racing or with Rahal-Letterman.
