The XJR comes with a supercharged 390-hp (SAE) AJ-V8 engine making it possible for this powerhouse sedan to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h is a mere 5.1 seconds. Standard R equipment includes a performance-tuned suspension, Brembo brakes with four-piston calipers, and 19-inch cast alloy wheels. The interior of the XJR is performance-themed with body-hugging front sports seats that incorporate perforated leather inserts, while darkened walnut burl veneer exudes sporting ambience. In addition, a standard radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control system is added to the package, a feature that would cost an extra $3,660 in the Mercedes-Benz S55.
