It’s not just sexy, but very athletic, too

The all-new Jaguar E-PACE, a luxurious compact performance SUV, celebrated its global debut today in London. The least we can say is that it made quite a remarkable entrance!

With legendary British stunt driver Terry Grant behind the wheel, the Jaguar E-PACE set an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORD by achieving an epic 15.3 metre-long jump, complete with a 270-degree corkscrew-like barrel roll. You must know that it was previously tested in extreme conditions, from the gruelling Nürburgring race track to the deserts of the Middle East and Africa, not to mention some frozen lands way up north.

Smaller than the F-PACE, which was voted 2017 World Car of the Year, the new Jaguar E-PACE promises a driving experience that’s even closer to that of a sports car, while retaining all the practicality of a real SUV. An available Configurable Dynamics technology allows drivers to personalize throttle, steering and transmission settings. Lightweight construction, a highly sophisticated suspension, all-wheel drive with available Active Driveline and torque vectoring, and optional 21” wheels enhance its athletic prowess and confirm just how serious it is.

Under the hood, buyers will have a choice of 2.0L Ingenium gasoline engines, one producing 246 hp and the other 296 hp (exclusive to R-Dynamic models), each mated to a 9-speed ZF automatic transmission. Their 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 7.0 and 6.4 seconds, respectively.

Elsewhere, look for a wide range of premium amenities and connectivity technologies, such as a gesture-controlled tailgate, a multi-purpose Activity Key that can replace the traditional ignition key, configurable ambient lighting, a 12.3” full-colour digital TFT instrument panel, a central InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with 10” touchscreen and apps, plus a 4G LTE hot spot for up to eight devices.

In terms of styling, the sleek, aerodynamic lines of the E-PACE are inspired from the F-Type sports coupe, with short overhangs and a wide stance. A bold grille and LED headlights dominate the front end. Eleven body colours are available, and optionally the entire roof can be painted black or fitted with a panoramic sunroof.

Details about trim levels, equipment and pricing for the Canadian market will be announced close to the Jaguar E-PACE’s on-sale date. We’ll keep you posted, of course.
