Well, June 2010 has already become part of history and for everyone concerned, that's a good thing. Why for everyone? Simple, those that have had a great first half of 2010 are looking forward to the next six months and those that have done very poorly, are hoping that the next half-dozen months will be better. See?

How about that?! The Detroit-3 could almost take back their “Big-3” title given last months sales results. Chrysler, yes Chrysler, once down but certainly not out, has gained an impressive 101.4% in sales volume year over year. Now we know what that rumbling sound coming from the Detroit-Windsor area is!

Subaru lands on the next highest step of the podium with a 31.4% gain. General Motors and Ford more or less share the third position. With respective increases of 16.4% and 15.8% in sales volumes, things are looking good for both brands. Ford does retain the crown for the most new car deliveries of the month with a total 31,706 units, or nearly 2 1/5 times more than Toyota.

Speaking of Toyota, their 15.1% decrease in numbers puts them on the top step of the loser's podium. Honda is a short margin from that position, having sold 12.5% fewer new cars last month. Other notable losses were handed to Suzuki (-42.7%, 730 units from 1,273) and, after seemingly years without ever slowing down, Mitsubishi, with an 8.0% reduction.

Overall, light vehicles sales have climbed 11.6% which certainly bodes well for the coming second half of the first year of the new decade. As more 2011 model year products come about, these numbers should at least maintain their volley.
