Light vehicle sales were up 6.6% in June 2011 compared to June 2010, and the domestic automakers are pursuing their sales lead. In 2011, Ford is still the bestselling brand, followed by a battle for second place between General Motors and Chrysler.

In June, Nissan managed to increase their sales by 47% compared to the same period last year. Porsche (+34%), Chrysler (+27%), MINI (+30%), Land Rover (+21%), Kia (+21%), Audi (+20%) and Mitsubishi (+19%) also recorded strong year-over-year sales increases.

On the other hand, a limited supply of vehicles seems to be taking its toll on several Japanese brands, such as Lexus (-37%), Toyota (-27%), Infiniti (-25%), Acura (-21%) and Honda (-19%).
