As promised, Kia came to the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit to introduce the new Telluride concept and present the styling direction of a possible future premium large SUV in the brand’s lineup.

The three-row, seven-passenger Kia Telluride may be just a concept for now, but it was built on an existing platform. Some of its unique features include suicide doors that open 90 degrees, a seven-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system, and wireless smartphone charging. Let’s not forget Swipe Command, a thin, touch-sensitive, interactive band mounted to the second-row centre console allowing rear-seat passengers to quickly scroll and select desired media by simply swiping their hand.

For motivation, the Kia Telluride combines a 3.5L V6 engine with an electric motor. The 400 horsepower are routed to all four wheels via an advanced all-wheel drive system.
