Precision driving module
Think you're as good as Jacques Villeneuve or Patrick Carpentier? Well, you'll see that on a narrow track, you must remain 100-percent alert and focused not to hit a single orange cone. In order to succeed, developing "long-range vision" is crucial. Indeed, you have to trust your eyes more than your feet while getting used to looking farther ahead than usual.

Seasoned racing instructors

Chevrolet did not hesitate to surround Program Chiefs Richard Spénard and Robert Desrosiers with a team of renowned and seasoned drivers. The list includes Antoine Bessette, Claude Bourbonnais, Sylvain Champoux, Pierre Des Marais, Guy Lahaie, Martin Roy, Jean-François Veilleux and Steve Wester. Also, Patrick Carpentier acts as spokesman for the Chevrolet Tamers program. Each one knows first-hand how driving is a non-stop learning experience. True, some are more gifted than others, but you still have to perfect your skills on a regular basis. Since driving courses are no longer mandatory (at least in Quebec), solutions have to be found to educate beginners. Moreover, said driving courses only teach you the basics; an advanced training is a wise decision.

Catherine's comments
Catherine was one of the participants and also my protégé. At 18, she has been driving for nearly two years now. She particularly enjoyed the emergency braking module because her car and her dad's are equipped with ABS. The first two modules allowed her to better understand the correct technique. She said she appreciated the various exercises, but she would have liked to use her own car. This way, she would have been able to learn more about it. According to Catherine, every young driver should take a course like the Chevrolet Tamers. Next year, she hopes to lure in her friends, who are in desperate need of a few driving lessons. Also, Catherine said she liked the fact that all the cars on hand were equipped with radio transmitters, enabling her and others to hear the instructors' comments on each participant.

Congratulations Chevrolet!

Catherine believes that Chevrolet deserves a good round of applause for this wonderful program. Realizing how important safe driving is and organizing such a comprehensive training course are clear signs of Chevrolet's commitment toward young drivers.
