The diesel powered cars will have their performances restricted next season, following the new technical regulations unveiled by ACO, the Le Mans 24 Hours and World Endurance Championship organizer.
The diesel cars such as Peugeot and Audi will have their performances reduced by 7%, with the reduction of the diameter of their air restrictors: from 47,4 to 45,8 mm for single restrictors, and 33,5 to 32,4 mm for double resrictors.
The supercharger pressure for turbo engines will be reduced from 3000 to 2800 millibars. The capacity of the diesel cars’ fuel tanks will be reduced by five liters, from 65 to 60 liters.
The shark fins of the engine covers, that made their appearance at the back of the LMP1 cars for safety reasons, will also concern the LMP2 and FLM prototypes. Finally, the rearview mirror size will be increased for the GT cars.
