Twenty-seven-year-old Leon Haslam has been confirmed by BMW as team mate to Aussie Troy Corser for the 2011 of the World Superbike Championship, after finishing second in the 2010 Championship. In fact, Haslam has been released from his contract with Suzuki Alstare and will be testing the S 1000 RR bikes in the coming weeks.
Haslam, the son of GP500 race winner Ron, will work with Corser to continue development of the bike, to turn it into a race winner for next season. The S 1000 RR has won multiple “Bike of the Year!” awards in Europe and America, and Ayrton Badovini has won the World Superstock 1000 Championship for 2010, with nine wins out of ten races, aboard a BMW Italia-prepped machine. The bike is good, now let’s see at the front!
