The 2014 Consumer Reports Auto Reliability Survey puts Lexus and Toyota 1-2 in the rankings for the second consecutive year. They are followed by Mazda and Honda.

The lone American brand in the top 10 is Buick at No. 6.

Lincoln soared through the rankings, going from the 27th place last year to 15th in 2014 -- easily the best annual improvement. On the other hand, Infiniti plummeted 14 spots to No. 20, and Mercedes-Benz lost 11 spots to finish in 24th place this year.

Dodge, Ram, Jeep and Fiat -- all part of Fiat Chrysler -- occupy the bottom four spots of 28 brands ranked by the magazine. Chrysler is the company's highest-ranked brand at No. 22.
