The doors have one-piece hinges that can open both forward and outward to give an extra foot of clearance for the driver and passenger to get in and leave the vehicle, when compared to traditional vehicle door hinges.

The boat tail rear fascia has wide, LED tail lamps that light up 200 milliseconds faster than traditional bulbs and consume less power, while the dual, chrome-tipped exhaust pipes fit neatly into the sloping rear.
"I think (the boat tail) works beautifully on this car," Mays said. "It allows us to get the bumper offset and make it work, yet remain flush with the tail lamps. So the tail lamps actually become an integrated form of the car rather than an add-on.

The mechanicals underneath the Mark X concept are pure Thunderbird. It has rear-wheel drive, a 3.9-liter, 4-valve DOHC V8 aluminum block engine and a five-speed automatic transmission. With 280 hp and 286 foot-pounds of torque, the car should achieve 233 km/h (145 mph).
It has 19-inch, 12-spoke aluminum wheels with P245/40/R19 Michelin tires on the front and wider P275/35/R19 performance tires in the rear.
Concept vehicles such as the Mark LT and Mark X are close to what a production vehicle will probably look like, O'Connor said. Production versions would feature optional wood appointments too, because not everyone wants aluminum, but the chrome effects and grilles are what future Lincolns should be coming out with.
