LOS ANGELES -- Lincoln will be the first auto makerto offer Lucasfilm THX® certified premium car audio systems, significantlyadvancing car audio the same way that THX has revolutionized sound incommercial theatres, home theatres and multimedia products, Lincoln MercuryPresident Brian Kelley announced at the Los Angeles Auto Show today.
Under this arrangement, Lucasfilm THX(R) will ensure that high-performanceaudio systems in Lincoln vehicles meet the exacting sound quality andperformance standards of its new THX Ultra Premium Car Audio program,beginning with the 2003 Lincoln LS, which will be introduced in late 2002. Inaddition, THX and Lincoln have collaborated on a concept sound system for theLincoln Blackwood to showcase the potential for in-car multi-channel surroundsound, which can be seen and heard at the THX booth at the ConsumerElectronics Show in Las Vegas, Jan. 8 - 11.
