LMS: An all-feminine line-up for the 1000 km of Spa

Team Matech Competition will enter an all-feminine line-up at the 1000 km of Spa, second round of the Le Mans Series championship with three young Swiss drivers: Cindy Allemann, Natacha Gachnang and Rahel Frey.

Twenty-four-year old Cyndie Allemann was world-class kart racer when she switched to car racing in 2004. She competed in Formula Renault, then in German Formula 3 and Euroseries F3. She then moved to the USA in the Indy Lights in 2008 before competing in the German GT championship last year.

Natacha Gachnang, 22, raced in Formula BMW from 2003 to 2005, then in the German Formula 3 series (2006), Star Mazda in the USA (2007),and Spanish F3 (2008). Last season, she raced in the Formula 2 championship.

Rahel Frey, 24, raced in the Swiss Formula Renault series from 2004 to 2006. She moved in Formula Masters in 2007, then in German Formula 3 (2008 and 2009).

Meanwhile, Vanina Ickx announced the she will contest the 1000 km of Spa and Le Mans 24 hours as part of the Signature team’s Lola Aston Martin line-up.
