After a series of technical issues during the preliminary test at Le Mans, Aston Martin decided to withdraw its entry from the Six Hours of Spa, second round of the Le Mans Series championship.

After successfull years with a LMP1 « Coupé », Aston Martin decided to run a brand new open-cockpit prototype car in 2011.

But the new Aston Martin has suffered from numerous reliability problems during its first appearance at the Six Hours of Le Castellet, opening round of the LMS championship. The car could only run for a few laps during the practice sessions, and it sufferedfrom  numerous technical issues in race.

A similar feat happened during the preliminary tests at Le Mans last Sunday, and it forced the Aston Martin team to withdraw its entry from the Spa race.

The British team hopes to fix the problems before the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
