Anthony Davidson and Nicolas Minassian took victory in the Silverstone 1000 km aboard their Peugeot 908 HDi, while Kristensen-McNish’s Audi R15 was forced to retire with technical issues.
Audi set the pace in qualifying, with both Audi’s factory R15 set the fastest lap times of the session. McNish led the race in the opening laps, but Davidson’s Peugeot grabbed first position few laps later.
A few minutes later, McNish went in the pits with a differential failure, which forced the Audi to retire.
Davidson and Minassian clinched victory after a dominant performance. Peugeot had a great week-end, with the second place of ORECA’s Peugeot 908 driven by Nicolas Lapierre and Stephane Sarrazin.
Sarrazin secured drivers championship title for the second year in-a-row. Bernhard and Capello’s Audi R15 took third position.
The first « petrol » prototype was the Aston Martin driven by Stefan Mucke, Juan Barazi and Sam Hancock, while LMP2 victory went to Leventis-Watts-Kane’s Acura HPD. Firth and Hugues secured Formula Le Mans category win.
Bruni and Melo claimed victory with their Ferrari F430, and Gardel and Goueslard took GT1 with their Saleen, which was the only car that ran in the class.
LMP2 champions are Erdos, Newton and Collin (Lola HPD), and Porsche drivers Marc Lieb and Richard Lietz secured GT2 championship title.
