Ikuo Yokohama lost his Harley-Davidson bike on March 11, 2011, during a Tsunami. On that same bike, he had travelled the whole of Japan five years earlier. He was informed by Harley-Davidson that it had been found, lying on a Canadian beach in northern British Columbia.

First and foremost, Yokohama made sure to thank Peter Mark – the man who came across the bike while taking a hike –, and now, Harley-Davidson themselves are planning on chartering the lost Harley back to Japan, rebuilding it and then handing it back to the lucky owner, who lives in Yamamoto.

According to University of Hawaii scientists, many similar discoveries could be made, as over 20 million tons of waste are expected to end up on Canada’s coasts before 2014.
