Maserati will celebrate the world premiere of its first-ever SUV on March 1st at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show. The Levante will take aim at competitors such as the Porsche Cayenne and all-new Jaguar F-PACE.

The Italian brand’s design signature is clearly visible on the sides: The three iconic air vents on the front wings, the trapezoidal C-pillar with the “Saetta” logo, and the large, frameless door windows. Up front are new, tapered headlights separated into two elements, with the upper headlight unit connected to the radiator grille.

The Maserati Levante will use an intelligent all-wheel drive system codenamed “Q4” and a specially calibrated 8-speed automatic transmission. Gasoline and diesel engines will be available, though no specifications have been provided yet.

The first production units have already come off the assembly line and will hit the European market this spring, followed by the rest of the world later in 2016.
