Transport Canada announced a recall this morning for vehicle models from 2001 to 2008 (except for the 2007 model) equipped with a 3-litre V6 engine and speed control. Inadequate clearance between the engine cover and the speed control cable connector could result in a stuck throttle when the accelerator pedal is fully or almost fully depressed. This could make it difficult to stop the vehicle if the transmission is not in neutral.
Owners of Tribute models released in any of these years are urged to contact their dealer, who will replace the rear engine cover.
