McLaren revealed the prices for their MP4-12C in a press release today. The supercar will be officially on sale in United-Kingdom and Europe in the spring of 2011 and it will be possible to buy this magnificent car for the low price of £68,500 (CAD$ 228 250).
Prices for the MP4 will vary depending on the country. Therefore, France residents will have to disburse £200 000 to buy the vehicle while the people of Belgium will pay the highest price at £203 360.
Antony Sheriff, Managing Director of McLaren Automotive explains that “With a unique carbon chassis as the foundation, and a powerful, but highly efficient McLaren engine at its heart, the 12C offers staggering value: no other carbon-based car can compete at this price-point, or with the 12C’s technology and performance”.
Powered by a 3.8-litre engine producing 600 horsepower, the MP4 weighs in at 2,866 pounds. The car comes with a choice of 14 interior trims, 17 exterior paint finishes and promises a sports exhaust system, carbon ceramic brake discs, polished-finish callipers and two lightweight forged wheel options. The basic 12C features just one piece of carbon (named MonoCell), but carbon fibre options will include mirror casings, engine bay panels and engine cover.
