The wait is finally over! McLaren just released the complete specs for their MP4-12C supercar, which is set to take on the Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari 458 and the like.
Powered by a 3.8-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine mated to a 7-speed sequential gearbox, the 1,336-kg British sensation produces 592 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 443 lb-ft of torque from 3,000 to 7,000 rpm.
As you can imagine, these performance figures translate into neck-snapping accelerations – 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h in 9.1 seconds – not to mention a blistering top speed of 330 km/h. The MP4-12C also reaches the quarter mile in 10.9 seconds at 217 km/h.
Acceleration times can be slightly improved with the optional Pirelli Pzero Corsa tires that provide extra grip.
