Without a word from Volvo Canada, we haphazardly found pricing information, promos and specs on the next instalment of the naughty new S60.

Initially offered only as a T6 (300 hp turbo inline-6) with AWD, the new 2012 S60 T5 aims slightly lower on the price scale, ditching one cylinder, a half-litre of displacement and two drive wheels.

It therefore features a 2.5L turbocharged inline-5, good for 250 hp and it is mated to a 6-speed autobox and the front axle.

With a starting price of $38,300, the new T5 is all T6 AWD in styling, or almost, but for nearly $7,000 fewer bucks. For this coin, the T5 Level I is jam-packed with kit. The Level II, which retails for $39,950, adds a sunroof, a power passenger seat and some heat for frozen front tushies.

General Motors
Given that the car industry is doing well in Canada and that the Loonie has reached new heights, GM thought it a good time to grease their asking prices by between $200 and $2,000.

We find this move premature and poorly timed especially when considering the fact that Porsche, tiny little Porsche, has recently announced that they were lowering their entire spectrum of new car prices.

This may or may not have an impact on GM's business. The answer to sales, in general, typically lies in incentives.

McLaren
You've all read about the new MP4-12C, have seen pictures and video. All of you will agree that the MP4-12C is one of the most exciting performance cars introduced over the last decade or so, finding its way along side the Bugatti Veyron, Pagani Zonda and Koenigsegg CC.

News on the web states that the car will retail for a reasonably affordable $229,000 US. Reasonably as the car's tub is made out of carbon fibre, magnesium is used throughout the car and aluminium finds its way in many mechanical components. These are all very expensive elements.

The price is not yet confirmed. We have contacted McLaren and are hoping to get more info soon.

It will be very fast thanks to a lightweight powerful V8 and Lewis Hamilton wants one.

For this price and these reasons, we consider this future rare and highly desirable exotic a bargain.
