Hot on the heels of the top-line Mercedes-AMG GT R come a pair of new roadsters that will expand the Mercedes-AMG GT family of supercars to five members and deliver an awesome open-top driving experience.
These two new sports cars with fabric soft tops have all the performance genes AMG is famous for including a lightweight and torsionally rigid aluminium body, plus powerful and efficient 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engines.
The entry-level Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster produces 476 horsepower, while the mightier AMG GT C Roadster cranks things up to 557 horsepower. The latter also uses some of the technical refinements of the R such as active rear-axle steering, an electronically controlled locking rear differential, a wider rear track, AMG RIDE CONTROL sport suspension, and a variable performance exhaust system.
Both feature a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch transmission. Their acceleration times from 0-100 km/h are 4.0 and 3.7 seconds, respectively.
As for styling, the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster and GT C Roadster boast an expressive AMG Panamericana grille with 15 chrome-plated vertical bars, new 19” and 20” AMG wheels, an automatic rear spoiler, and a triple-layered fabric roof that opens and closes in around eleven seconds, even at speeds of up to 50 km/h.
