Considering the growing interest for fuel-efficient vehicles, Ford Motor Company is updating its small car lineup. The Fiesta, a B-segment automobile currently sold in Europe, will land on our shores in 2010.
Visually based on the Verve Concept, introduced at Detroit's NAIAS, the Fiesta will be available in both sedan and hatchback body configurations. Ford has big hopes for this car in North America, especially when considering the success it enjoys across the pond. The Fiesta is expected to set new standards for quality, design, fuel economy and comfort.
The new multi-plant development effort in Mexico represents a $3 billion US investment by Ford. An assembly line producing F-Series trucks will have to be modified in order to make room for the new Fiesta.
