But as much as F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone would love to see such drama unfold in the series he owns so much of, in the end it won't be up to him. The final call will come from Sir Frank himself, along with right hand man Patrick Head.

"We have a list of potential drivers, Jacques is on the list," Williams told Montreal newspaper La Presse this weekend.
"There has been no offer and no negotiations. We are not ready for that. It's a long procedure and we are in no hurry. We will speed things up in August.
"We will have to look at the drivers on our list, decide which we want to test and after that we will make our decision. It's a possibility that Jacques will test. If we proceed with Jacques, it will happen in August or September, something like that."
Of most importance to JV fans will be Williams' comments regarding the meeting with his 1997 F1 champion. "He's as aggressive as ever. He was very fired up, very determined to get back on the track. It was an interesting meeting."
