A day after announcing that the Hummer H3 would be produced in South Africa, American carmaker General Motors has also announced that its Cadillac brand will also be available there in early 2007.

Three models will initially be available: the successful new front-wheel-drive BLS sedan, the SRX crossover and the STS full-sized sedan. GM says all three

machines embody Cadillac's distinctive design and outstanding performance. GM's VP of Global Design Edward Wellburn explains "Cadillac's art and science design enables buyers around the globe to demonstrate their individuality in a highly competitive segment that needs more edge."

Prompted by strong sales outside of the USA, the luxury brand will continue to grow on an international scale. For instance, the Cadillac brand was launched in China just 2 years ago and has experienced an increase in sales of some 93 percent since last year. GM is extremely proud of its brands successes in various new market segments, and looks forward to increased presence in other countries.

The expansion into South Africa will be backed by a dealer network in major cities such as Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. It will be comprised of the best retailers in the country to help provide shoppers with a one-of-a-kind luxury shopping experience.
