The Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototypes will race on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. This gives the
up and coming series a huge boost, by visiting one of the best venues on any American series schedule.
The debate seemed to revolve around whether to 'invite' the American Le Mans series or Grand Am. It appears the car count - in a single class - was one of the big factors. Daytona Prototypes should be able to field 30-40 cars, whereas, the ALMS would have trouble fielding that many in all classes combined. Fans want to see everyone racing in the same class, in the same cars, so Grand Am got the nod for 2006....
The Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship has added four more drivers to its popular Sunoco Team Ultra 94 for 2006. Drivers earning fully funded scholarships for 2006 are, Markham, Ontario's Daniel Morad, St-Bruno, Quebec's Devin Cunningham, Barrie, Ontario's Kyle Marcelli, and Gilford, Ontario's Adriano Bilotta.....
Ottawa racer Philip Major has announced he's joined Atlantic Motorsport for the 2006 season and beyond. Major is just 16 years old, and will move from the sedan ranks in Honda Michelin, to Formula BMW for 2006.
