MyLincoln feature a completely “knob” free centre stack, and a unique "slider" control for stereo volume and climate (run your finger along a line and an LED light follows).
For a lot of functions, you can crossover to any switching mode at any time. Start with voice command, for example, then switch with your thumbs, and then finish with the touch screen.
The sound system was developed in close cooperation with Sony, and has HD (high definition) capability with “Song Tagging” (a vehicle first). If you hear a song you like, you can “tag” it, and the system will get you the info to download it later (at home) from iTunes.
Also available is full WiFi with a built-in browser (for use only when the vehicle is in park). With an USB-installed air card or USB modem, you can create a WiFi “hot spot” in the vehicle.
If you change Ford vehicles, you can transfer all your electronic settings via an SD card. Ford is hoping this will make it harder for customers to not buy another Ford.
Kuzak also noted that MyFord/MyLincoln is designed to be a signature Ford and Lincoln DNA element. A Ford driver could get into any Ford product anywhere in the world, and immediately and confidently dive into the interface.
