The newly repaved Darlington Raceway in South Carolina was not an easy place for Canadian drivers Patrick Carpentier (Dodge No 10 in Sprint) and D.J. Kennington (Dodge No 81 in Nationwide) during Thursday practice.

Carpentier even hit the wall and his speeds put him 41st in the 1st practice and 44th in the second, next to last (Matt Kenseth was last with his No 17 Ford).

Kyle Busch (Camry No 18 was first in the first practice. A.J. Allmendinger (Camry No 84) was the fastest in the second.

In the third Nationwide practice, Ontario's D.J. Kennington was 30th as Denny Hamlin (Camry No 18) was the fastest.

The Nationwide race will be held on Friday evening and the Sprint Cup race will be held on Saturday evening. The Craftsman Truck drivers are off this weekend.
