With only two races to be held on the 2011 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series calendar, no less than five drivers still have their sight set on becoming the series’ Rookie of the Year.

Following the Barrie event held last Saturday, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin continues to lead the rookie leader board with 53 points.

Isabelle Tremblay is second with 51 followed by John Farano (46), Noel Dowler (45) and Steve Mathews (40).

All five drivers have a mathematical chance to claim the award with two races remaining.

The rookie points system is a simple one. The top-finishing rookie driver earns 10 points, the next collects nine points and so on down the line to one. Should there be more than 10 rookies in the field no driver earns less than a single point.

The next race is to be presented this coming Saturday will be the Komatsu 300 at the Riverside International Speedway in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
