In an extraordinary NASCAR finish, Jimmie Johnson (Chevy No 48) edged out a very fast but a little too bold Carl Edwards (Ford No 99) to win the Camping World RV sales 400 at the Kansas Speedway.

Edwards' teammate Greg Biffle (Ford No 16) passed Jeff Gordon (Chevy No 24) on the very last lap to finish third while Matt Kenseth ended up fifth. Kyle Busch (Camry no 18) once again experienced mechanical problems (for the third race in a row) and might be definitely out of the Chase for the Cup.

Canadian Patrick Carpentier (Dodge No 10) started 19th but finished 29th. Yet, he was the best-placed Rookie. Johnson leads the championship with only 10 points over Edwards.

The next race, the fourth in a series of ten, will be at the Talladega SuperSpeedway next Sunday.
