It has happened many times this year and it happened again today. Qualifying for the TUMS QuikPak 500 Sprint Cup race to be run Sunday was rained out again.

Consequently, drivers will have to start with their position at the championship. Jimmie Johnson (Chevy No 48) will be on first row with Jeff Burton (Chevy No 31).

Second row will be formed by two Roush-Fenway drivers, Greg Biffle (Ford No 16) and Carl Edwards (Ford No 99).

The ex-Carpentier Dodge No 10 will be driven for the first time by A.J. Allemdinger.

Derrike Cope (Dodge No 75) and Sterling Marlin (Chevy No 09) could not qualify being the 44th and 45th cars on the line up.
